Uncommon Sense is Elucid's conversational series dedicated to the exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives through intimate, curated conversation.
For our second gathering, we're joined by Hameem Khan for an evening exploring one of humanity's oldest and most enduring questions: What does it truly mean to be free?
Freedom is often understood as the ability to do whatever we want. But is that really freedom? Does freedom exist without responsibility? Without limits? Without others?
Through a guided conversation, we'll explore how freedom is shaped by our identities, relationships, choices, and the social, cultural, and personal structures we move through every day.
This is not a lecture or a debate. It is a space for thoughtful dialogue, where participants are invited to question, listen, challenge ideas, and reflect together. The intention isn't to arrive at definitive answers, but to leave with richer questions, new perspectives, and meaningful conversation.

This one is for anyone who's ever wanted to slow down and really look at a flower. Using ikebana as our guide, we'll explore balance, negative space, and natural movement, letting the stems tell us where they want to go rather than forcing them into place. Think loose, wild, and very summer garden.

This workshop is inspired by Jen’s Filipino background and the vibrant florals of the tropics. Together, we’ll explore how to create expressive arrangements using tropical flowers and foliage, focusing on movement, balance, and natural form. Guests will be guided through the process of creating their own floral vase arrangement using a curated selection of tropical blooms. This workshop is designed to be both approachable and creative, inviting you to slow down, connect with nature, and experiment with bold textures and shapes.
